Top 10 Safest Cars in India: The Global New Car Assessment Program (Global NCAP) has crash-tested several made-in-India cars as part of its Safe Car for India mission.
Global NCAP has given different ranks to these cars in terms of adult and child safety.
Here we are telling you about the 10 safest cars in the country.
Mahindra XUV700 SUV remains at number one in this list.
It got a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test last year.
The SUV gets safety features like 7 airbags, electronic stability program, 360-degree camera, blind view monitoring and advanced driver assistance system.
Tata’s popular car punch comes at number two in this list.
Punch has also scored good marks in the Global NCAP crash test.
It is currently considered the second safest car in India.
For the safety of adults, this car has got 5 stars, while for the safety of children, it has got a four star rating.
The XUV300 is the first car from Mahindra to get a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.
It has also received the ‘Safer Choice’ award for meeting the highest level of safety performance standards.
Prior to the Tata Punch, the XUV300 had the highest combined occupant safety rating of any Indian car ever tested.
Tata’s premium hatchback Altroz is currently India’s safest car in its segment with a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.
It has also achieved a three-star rating for child occupant protection.
Altroz gets ABS, traction control, central locking, EBD, ISOFIX (child-seat mount), 2 airbags.
Among the sub-compact SUVs currently available in India, the Tata Nexon is the safest car as per the global NCAP ratings.
The SUV earned a five-star rating for adult occupant protection and a three-star rating for child occupant.
Mahindra’s off-road Beast Thar is at number six in the ranking with a four-star rating for both adult and child safety.
The SUV comes with two airbags as standard across all variants.
Honda City (4th Generation)
This is the fourth generation of Honda’s long lasting sedan.
Tata Tigor EV
The Tigor EV, the first EV to be crash-tested by Global NCAP, received a four-star rating for both the safety of adults and children in the car.
Toyota Urban Cruiser
The Toyota Urban Cruiser has got 4 stars for adults and 3 stars for child safety in the NCAP crash test.
The Tata Tiago and Tigor are ranked 10th on the list of safe cars for India by NCAP, with a 4-star rating for adults, and a three-star rating for child safety during an accident.
