If you have a phone with NFC support you can make tap-to-pay payments using Google Pay directly from your phone.
Through this feature you will not need to use your credit or debit card at any shop where there is a card-payment system.
Apart from this even if you have forgotten your card at home this feature will come in very handy.
To use this feature you need to have a phone with NFC support the Google Pay app and a credit or debit card.

How to set up tap-to-pay on Google Pay
First of all open Google Pay and go to the profile icon in the top right corner.
Now in the ‘Payment methods’ given below you will get the option to add debit and credit cards.
There is also an option to add a new bank account near it.
After clicking on the ‘Payment methods’ option select the option to add ‘credit or debit card’.
Now a new camera window will open in Google Pay using which you can scan your card and after that the 16 digit number will be automatically entered.
Apart from this you can also enter your card details manually.
After this you can enter other details like expiry date and CVV.
After all this process Google will verify these details with your bank and a 6-digit OTP will come on your registered mobile number.
After entering the OTP your card will be linked and you will be able to set it as the default tap-to-pay.
How to use tap-to-pay on Google Pay?
When you want to use Google Pay at a tap-to-pay outlet first unlock your phone turn off NFC and tap your phone at a payment terminal or machine.
Payment machines usually have an NFC icon to allow you to easily connect your phone.
If the phone is properly aligned with the machine Google Pay will automatically open and you can confirm the amount and tap Proceed.
