- Making Money as a Blogger?
Blogging started as just another hobby for individuals who wanted to share their thoughts with the rest of the world.
However over time, blogging has become something more than just an activity where people shared random articles on various topics.
Today’s bloggers make money through ad revenue, affiliate commissions and similar means.
This means that they now have the ability to work from home without having to hold a 9 to 5 job.
The lifestyle that comes with blogging is not easy and there are a lot of things you need to take into consideration before you actually decide to start your own blog.
The good news is that all the necessary information can be found online, for free.
All it takes is some time and patience in order to get everything sorted out.
You may be surprised to learn that blogging is not as simple as it seems.
Even if you’ve written your first article and posted it online, there’s a lot more that goes into blogging than just writing down your thoughts and opinions.
So before you start thinking that anyone can become a successful blogger, you should take the time to understand what it takes to run a blog successfully.
Above all else, success depends on how you define success for yourself – and judging by the sheer number of blogs out there today, people see blogging as something they want to do because it lets them share their thoughts or interests with other people online.
However, this alone does not make them successful.
The key to becoming truly successful? Drive and dedication – you must have the desire to succeed.
You also want to make sure you have the skills necessary to make your blog successful.
While the ability to write well is certainly important for success as a blogger, it’s not the end all-be all factor that many people think it is.
There are five levels of blogging success – success in terms of readership, expertise, community involvement , monetary value , and personal growth .
Each one builds upon the last – meaning that true blogging success consists of everyone achieving all five levels instead of just one or two levels at different times during their blogging career.
You shouldn’t expect to achieve each level overnight.
Instead, you should have a strategy in place that allows you to grow your blog successfully while enjoying the process along the way.
And if at any point during this process things get too difficult or complicated for you, you can always look into other blogging alternatives online.
There are many businesses out there willing to pay people for their thoughts and opinions – all you have to do is ask!
So you’re thinking about starting a blog, huh? Maybe you’ve been blogging for a while and you feel like its time to branch out on your own.
Or maybe you have been kicking the idea around in the back of your mind for a long time, but haven’t taken action yet.
No matter what brought you here, I’m so glad that you decided to visit! My goal is to provide all of the information you need in order to get started.
From selecting a topic, finding a web host and getting going with WordPress.
In fact, if you don’t have any experience working with websites or writing online at all there is absolutely no reason not to follow my lead and give it a go!
The Blog Starter Kit is an online course that takes all of the guesswork out of starting a new blog .
It’s great for both beginners who have never written anything online before as well as bloggers who want to take their sites to the next level.
Start Successful Lifestyle Blog
First of all, I would like to say that blogging is an extremely fun activity as it allows one to be creative and share some thoughts.
In order to create a successful blog, you have firstly divide your target audience into two groups: those who visit the blog every day and those who do not.
Afterward, you try to satisfy both groups but the first group should be satisfied before you care more about the second one.
This is essential because even if no-one visits your site for several days, those who read on a daily basis will provide content via comments which in turn helps you find out what exactly they’re looking for and thus help you with catering to your blog’s niche.
For the first step of this tutorial, I will explain how to properly come up with a domain name.
If you follow these simple steps, it will be much more likely for you to have a successful website on top of that having potential customers remember your website easily.
To create a great domain name, try not to use any numbers or special signs in there because letters are easier to remember by people.
A good practice would also be not using hyphens unless they’re necessary for proper reading. Your blog’s title should ideally consist of one or two words which must stand out from others but still sound quite nice if spoken aloud or read silently.
A domain can generally contain lowercase characters only as most browsers nowadays automatically transform your site to a sentence when a uppercase is present.
This way you can easily mention your domain name on various social media platforms for example for branding purposes as most users will assume that you’re talking about the title of your website.
In order to have an attractive and unique blog, I suggest using a .com as top-level domains are generally more trustworthy for consumers and thus instill more confidence in them.
Once we’ve covered this crucial step, let’s move onto the maintenance of the blog.
For maintaining your blog effectively and efficiently, it is essential to update it regularly with new posts and sections.
Even if your content isn’t particularly interesting or useful at first glance, always remember that people like new things because they make them feel like they’re up-to-date and thus make them feel like the world is moving forward.
Once your blog is created, it’s time to promote it by sharing each post on social media for example Facebook groups or LinkedIn subgroups which contain people who match the interests that you’ve catered to via your domain name.
You can also try promoting your blog on Reddit as most users tend to be interested in topics similar to yours. Another way of getting traffic would be creating promotional YouTube videos which allow you to monetize them with AdSense if you own a website with good numbers of page views per month.
If you want more information about this topic, I highly recommend reading various blogs about blogging tips and tricks so that you could start making money.
Now that you’ve reached this point, it’s time to learn how to increase the number of subscribers and fans your website has.
As for promoting your webpage, I would suggest contacting bloggers who have already become popular over time and ask them if you can exchange links as this will create an influx of traffic into both sites.
Finally, don’t be afraid to experiment as there are various methods there which allow you to test what works and what doesn’t work so you can adjust your marketing strategy accordingly.
Once you’ve reached the point where a decent amount of traffic is coming from social media, organically search engines and other blogs, it’s time to discuss monetizing your blog to get the most out of it.
In order to get maximum profit from your site, I suggest using Google AdSense because it’s one of the easiest ways to get money simply for placing ads on your website.
There are various tutorials available across the web which show you how best to target viewers based on their interests and thus increase CTRs (click-through rates).
By having well-placed relevant ads which generate high enough income per click in comparison with hard competition for keywords hosted in your domain name, you can earn good money over time.
As for other methods of making money with your website, I wouldn’t recommend them as generally they are either too complicated or risky which is why by sticking to the basics you’ll be able to get a decent amount of income each month which will allow you to continue working on your blog without any hiccups along the way.
The final step in this guide deals with some general rules that are often ignored but are crucial for increasing both traffic and conversions significantly.
The first rule deals with giving more importance to images than titles as people nowadays link mostly images rather than text due to various social media sharing platforms such as Tumblr or Pinterest where users love blowing up their favorite web photographs into huge advertisements on their profile or group boards.
The second rule deals with having a clear call-to-action which entices readers to either start using your product by clicking on a banner ad, a button or a simple hyperlink leading them to a landing page where they have to subscribe for your newsletter, download something from you or buy from you depending on what it is that you’re selling.
There are many reasons why someone may choose blogging as their form of media but before you begin, let’s take time to consider some practical advice.
Here are the top four things I wish someone would have told me when I first began blogging.
You need an online platform that works for you
There are dozens of different blogging services available on the market today; it makes sense that bloggers would want full control over what they’re using.
However, this can be a confusing time for new bloggers. Which platform is best?
If you’re just dipping your toes into the blogging world then I recommend WordPress.org .
It’s still very easy to use and once you get the hang of it, there are dozens upon dozens of ways to customize your site.
You can make one blog or ten different blogs; the choice is yours! The only problem with WordPress.org (and this goes for other blogging services too) is that many people love their templates but hate the fact that they don’t have full control over them.
There are lots of tutorials about this on YouTube if you want to learn more.
Where do you want your readership to come from?
I’m sure you know that there are bloggers out there who have tens of thousands of readers from all over the world.
This is because they know how to attract an audience. If you’re wondering, “how do I start a lifestyle blog without a following” then I recommend writing about what you know and what interests you most.
The more you write about a topic, the more followers will come to your site .
Do one thing well
This is definitely something I wish somebody would have told me! When it comes down to it, blogging can be very stressful when you’re juggling multiple topics at once.
It’s best just to stick with one central idea for your blog posts and then expand from there later on down the line.
This way, people will begin to recognize your name and what you write about.
Remember to have fun!
Finally, don’t forget why you started blogging in the first place!? There’s no prize for being the best blogger on the internet so just do it because you love it!
This blog is a hobby that I take seriously but I never get upset when somebody leaves an unfavorable comment.
It’s also important to remember that people are drawn to blogs with updated content so if having a busy lifestyle makes this difficult then don’t worry too much about it.
Write when you can and look back at some of your old posts every once in awhile; it will help remind you of where (and who) you were before.
It’s completely normal for bloggers to turn their hobbies into new blog topics adn if your passion is enough it can make up for any mistakes you may make along the way.
So don’t feel like you have to stick with one topic before you even start blogging!,
That being said, I personally think many beginners do better when they choose a main niche first and then pick new topics within that category as they go.
For example, some people might want to blog about parenting since its there main love in life.
Then on top of that they could write about specific issues like potty training or choosing schools for their children.
Within those bigger categories there are still hundreds of sub-niches that you could choose from, this strategy is called the “narrow/broad” approach where you start with a big broad topic and then fine tune it into more specific sub-categories as time goes on.
The truth is, you can never be 100% sure what subject will attract readers and make your blog successful.
If you pick the right topic it could take off like wildfire but if not then all of your hard work will be worthless.
It’s a huge risk to take.
If only there was some magical way to know for sure which direction would pay off in the end… Why don’t you try creating to see if any traffic comes your way?
In conclusion, starting up a blog and making it as successful as the blogs mentioned previously in this article takes time as well as effort if you want to make money blogging. However, following this guide will allow you to get the most out of your hard work so that all of that time is worth it in the end when people are actually buying stuff through ads hosted on your blog or if your blog becomes popular enough for people to buy stuff directly from your main website.
I hope these tips will make your journey easier and more fun! If you have any more questions feel free to leave a comment..
