How to Reset ATT Email Password Without Phone Number and Alternate Email (Change ATT.NET Password)

Important information about shared passwords for att.net and att.com

  • If you have an Access ID with the AT&T email address associated with the email, the password will be the same on att.com and on att.net.
  • If you change your password, it changes for both your Access ID and your email address.
  • Always use your AT&T email address to complete these instructions, even if it is merged with the yahoo.com email address.
  • The following instructions are valid for both primary and secondary email addresses and all AT&T email address domains (bellsouth.net, flash.net, prodigy.net, s wans.net, nvbell.net, att.net, pacbell.net, swbell) are .net, snet.net).

Reset Your AT&T Password With a Temporary Password

If you don’t know the answers to your security questions, follow these steps.

Note: This method is only available if you have saved an email address in your account that is different from the address for which you are trying to reset the password.

  1. Go to the forgot password page.
  2. Choose Password.
  3. Enter your AT&T email address and your last name.
  4. Select continue.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select Send me a temporary password.
  6. Choose how you want the temporary password to be sent to you.
  7. Select continue. Check the temporary password.
  8. Copy the temporary password and enter it in the fields provided. Follow the instructions to create a new, permanent password. If you close the window by mistake, you can access your temporary one-time password by visiting the myAT&T sign-in page. You will then be prompted to create your new password.

Update email password using smartphone, tablet or computer.

For security reasons, it’s a good idea to change your password regularly. You can do this at myAT&T.

  1. Go to your sign-in information.
  2. Select Change Password.
  3. Enter your password information and save.

Note: Your new password may also apply to your AT&T user ID.

Tap on Sign In Interface from the top right hand side of the landing page. You will be re-synced to the login page.

If you have ignored your BellSouth email secret key, a login error message will appear on your screen.

‘BelSouth Email Forgot Password?’ Tap on Interface below the password field. This will take you to the att.com password reset area.

Now check the Password box. Please enter your User ID and your Last Name. Click on the Continue button.

You can now choose to receive a temporary password or answer your own security questions. Select ‘Send me a temporary password’ or ‘I will answer my security questions’.

If you choose a temporary password, AT&T will send you an email with a new temporary password in your recovery email address. Log in using that temporary password and now create a new password for bellsouth.net login.

If you remember your security questions and answers, simply answer your security questions 1 and 2 and click Continue. Now create a new password.

Reset your BellSouth email password with and without security questions

Follow these steps to reset your password by answering your security questions.

If you don’t remember them, you can Update your security questions and answers, You can also follow the next set of instructions to reset with a temporary password.

  3. Enter your full BellSouth email address and your last name.
  4. Select continue.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select I will answer my security questions.
  6. Answer the security questions you set for your account.
  7. Select continue.
  8. Follow the prompts to create your new password.

Once successful, you will receive a confirmation that your password has been reset. It may take up to five minutes for the new password to take effect.

  3. Enter your full BellSouth email address and your last name.
  4. Select continue.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select I will answer my security questions.
  6. Answer the security questions you set for your account.
  7. Select continue.
  8. Follow the prompts to create your new password.

To resolve this issue, simply change your password to a more secure one.

If you forgot your email password to sign in

  1. Select Forgot Password?
  2. Complete the Password section.
  3. Choose a temporary password or security question and follow the prompts.
  4. If you chose a temporary password, enter the password you received. The Temporary Password page will tell you where the password was sent.
  5. Create your new password.

If You Forgot Your AT&T ID and Password

  1. Select Forgot ID? > User ID and Password.
  2. Enter your contact email address.
  3. If prompted, choose how you want to receive your ID.
  4. Enter your User ID which was sent to you.
  5. Choose a temporary password or security question and follow the prompts.
  6. If you chose a temporary password, enter the password you received. The Temporary Password page will tell you where the password was sent.
  7. Create your new password.
