It isn’t difficult to tap into a hidden network of people hungry for information and eager to share it with their friends.

It just takes a little ingenuity, the ability to think outside the box, and some hard work.

Let’s look at some ways you can go about this:

Study your product

First, take an objective look at what you are trying to sell.

If you sell self-help books for children with ADHD, do some research.

Find out who is blogging about ADHD and how they can help you get your message out there.

Take a good look at their blog and the content they produce.

What do their followers like?

Are they interested in contests or giveaways?

Will they be receptive to promotional material you send them?

What are the chances that they will give your book a positive review?

If your product is suited for teens, look for blogs with young readers.

If it’s something they can use in their everyday lives (like health and beauty products) reach out to lifestyle bloggers.

There are some limitations, but it’s still an excellent resource. Here’s how to do it:

Enter in keywords that are related to your product or service.

For example, if you’re looking for bloggers who have written about SEO then enter some of the most common phrases used by bloggers covering this topic.

You can also use more general terms.

For example, some companies target “marketing bloggers” not just those who have written about SEO.

Step 2: Export your list and select your targets

You’ll only be able to export the first 100 people you find.

People who’ve used other tools like HARO or Hunter will probably recognize this feature as a familiar workflow.

This is the first place I go when looking for new bloggers to promote my products.

This allows you to pick off exactly who you want to target first.

Which results are the most popular?

The biggest blogs are at the top, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they’re too big to work with.

Step 3: Methodically go after your targets

Now that you have all of your targeted bloggers in front of you, it’s time to start emailing them.

The hardest part about this is making sure you don’t miss anyone.
